Introduction
Hey guys, welcome to the temporary page for Stellar’s Support fund!
Currently we are raising funds so we can take Stellar out on a healing day, since they’ve been having a hard time recently, and deserve some Twinkle love.
Updated Present Delivery Structure to Stellar (Last Update: 2016-07-18)
Since we have various parts to this project, we will be delivering the presents to Stellar across a period of time. It will end up looking like a ‘3-course Meal’, with each present teasing on to the next one. I think it will be fun to give the girls something to look forward to each time.
Structure, Delivery Dates, Cost Estimates:
I will aim to send out each portion of the present at the following dates, so please send your contribution before those dates. I will sign off with the names of everyone who has contributed up to that particular point (although I will also make an online credits page available to Stellar, which will continuously be updated).
Note that the costs shown below are estimates, which may need to change a little as we go along.
- Entree
- [2016-05-31] [Delivered!] Starbucks Charge Cards for each of the girls (₩120,000 = ~$120 charged each) – Starbucks Cards from Hey Eonni, letter printing, tracking and postage ($512 USD) + Letter Translation Costs ($6 USD). Confirmed total: $518 USD
- Courses 1-3 (order to be determined):
- [2016-07-02] [Delivered!] Massage for Stellar Members – $796.90 USD (4 x 220,000 Won Gift Card Cost + 4% Paypal conversion fees) + $3.98 USD Paypal Transfer Fee + Letter and Fan Message Translations ($19.20). Confirmed total: $820.08
- [2016-08-??] Present for Stellar’s dorm – Budget: $800
- [2016-09-??*] Lotte World Day Out! (For 5 people: Stellar & Manager) – $550 (Premium Tour for 5 people) + $125 (Lunch for 5 people) + Dinner? + $400 (Possibly more?) to cover filming costs + $100 (For anything else) = $1175 (*The Entertainment Pascal will review our project as Stellar’s next comeback is wrapping up!)
- Dessert
- Anything past our initial funding goal we can use for unique things to interact with, and help promote the girls (The details are to be determined). Note also that not all costs have been fully determined, so some funding over the initial limit may go to those (eg filming and editing costs)
- Other Fees
- SSP contributor page message translations – Current total: $11.70
- Paypal fees – There were some fees related to receiving contributions, and currency conversion fees – To Update
- Communication costs for Lotte World
- $12.50 Skype credit for calls with TEP
- $40.8 Preparations for, and communications with TEP
- Buffer & Funds for more promotions
- We’ve reached past our initial goal for $2500 yay! I have used these amounts above our initial goal to add to the budget we have for some of the items above! Note that we may not need to use everything we budget for each event, in which case the left over amounts will carry over to the budget for the next stages of the project, as well as more ideas for promoting Stellar! 😀 (Keep those ideas coming by the way! We can potentially support Stellar’s upcoming V-app broadcasts with this project as well :)). Note that the buffer will also help us cover for any unexpected costs that come up.
- Current buffer: $419.
- Costs that still need to be accounted for:
- Exchange fees and transfer costs still need to be accounted for. I currently estimate this to be about 5% of contributions.
- Translation costs for some of the messages (currently up to date above)
- Costs related to communicating and organising with The Entertainment Pascal (currently up to date above)
- We’ve reached past our initial goal for $2500 yay! I have used these amounts above our initial goal to add to the budget we have for some of the items above! - [2016-07-11] Messages and photos of all contributors will be delivered at the end of the project! Postage Fees
- A virtual version is being prepared, which has been made accessible to Stellar’s members. As a small thank you to the contributors that have contributed a lot, the contributions page is ordered based on the amount you have contributed! You can view the virtual version here.
Initial Project Introduction:
The funds for this project will be used to:
- Cover an amazing day out for the girls, and give them a chance to de-stress!
- On their April 7th V-app broadcast the girls expressed their wishes in going to Lotte World, so the current plan is to pay for tickets and expenses.
- I will ask them to take a proof photo or video so we know they got to enjoy the day out.
- Perhaps get something useful for the girls in their dorm – still to be decided – ideas welcome!
- Fund Stellar to create something awesome to promote themselves (maybe a video, or a release of Stellar’s recent concert on blu-ray and DVD. Update: I’m currently pushing for the DVD to be released via Stellar’s Makestar project).
- The thought behind this is to show Stellar and management that Stellar is popular and has a lot of support overseas (this is important to show management how Stellar can become successful, and why they should keep on going). Hopefully this will also mean more products made for overseas fans as well.
We will also be:
- Collecting messages and photos from fans to put together as a collage for Stellar. I will have the messages translated to Korean by my Korean translator.
The plan for the project is always being improved and refined, so if you have any thoughts or ideas, please let me know!
Fund Details
Funding Goal:
- Initial goal: $2500 – to cover the healing day and gift for Stellar’s dorm
- Stretch goal: $10,000 – to have Stellar create videos to promote themselves. We can have some fun with this – for example for Lotte World, the girls can already double that up and record a video to help self-promote. We can go along that theme and have other fun videos created. Other ideas: create the blu-ray and DVD for Stellar’s recent concert for international fans.
- (I think if we could raise this amount, we would be able to show Stellar and The Entertainment Pascal how much of an overwhelming support international Twinkles have for Stellar. The amount seems large, but I have a plan to get us up there, so don’t fret!). The idea is to help Stellar in some way to get more fans, or give international Twinkles a new opportunity to support Stellar by providing a new product that we want, for us to buy.
Current funds raised: ~$4993 collected (across 68 fans)

Thank you for the feedback in all your emails guys! I’ve put some thought and made the following changes to the project:
- Stellar’s healing day will be at Lotte World!
- Took out vitamins and health products because the funds could be better used for an amazing day out for the girls!
- Added idea to get something useful for the girls in their dorm.
- Added a suggested target for the project – the funds Stellar wanted to raise on Makestar.co to fund their Sting album was $10,000. I think if we also raised in total $10,000, we would show Stellar and The Entertainment Pascal how much of an overwhelming support international Twinkles have for Stellar. The amount seems large, but I have a plan to get us up there, so don’t fret!
Please feel free to keep sending me ideas via email. You can also make comments in the section below!

[…] Stellar Support Project @IdeaFan. […]
Thanks for the July 10 update. Nice job, I think it’s great that they are in China, and I’m glad they are not injured or sick or anything.
I would like people to know that Makestar has added (about a week ago) a $25 category and that has helped them get from about 350% to now about 430%. Anyway, for people who wanted to put some money there but the $42 category was too steep, now there is a $25 category.
On China again, everybody knows China is a big deal for Kpop, big place to expand their business, and it seems more than ever that way. I notice now that SBS MTV “The Show” counts Tudou views and pre-votes from China equally to sales and SNS in Korea (35% each). Not sure about the details of that but it seems pretty radical. That’s in the Wikipedia article called “Music programs of South Korea”.
Wow that’s excellent. Thank you for the information about how the ranking is counted! I’m working with some other fans on ways international fans can support Stellar in music shows, so this is very good information! I will pass the information around! Thanks Bioooze! And gooooo Stellar! <3
Makes sense to delay Lotte World until after they are done with their new music cycle. So, good that they said that in their email. They should be focused on their work right now!
I don’t think we should get them a puppy, hate to say it because I love dogs, but they are a lot of work, and if they want a dog they can easily get one themselves. Having a dog might be totally incompatible with how they live or where they live.
Lotte World, massages, and restaurant (or grocery store) coupons are the best things I can think of to give them. But for a video they could do someday for us, if they haven’t done this already, I would love to see them cooking up some kind of food in a kitchen. I love watching people putting food together in the kitchen, probably because that’s what I like doing myself! It would be even cooler if the food items they were using was stuff they bought with money or coupons from us. Another thing they could in that video is show us a little bit of their shopping for the food items. The food shopping videos I’ve seen from Korea are depressing to me because here are these nice beautiful pop stars buying all this pre-packaged food that looks like pretty bad quality, and they buy junk like pop and chips YUK. Aren’t there any high quality food sources in Seoul? If there are I’d like to see them. Maybe they could hook up with somebody who is a good pro chef who really knows what they are doing with food, and they could do a shopping tour and a cook-in with this person. Then when the work is done and they are ready to eat, they should shut the camera off! And just enjoy their food in peace and not have to be talking about stuff or schmoozing for the camera LOL!
I wish they could get on some type of food/cooking variety show like “Please take care of my Refrigerator”. On that show, they bring in the star’s fridge and the cooks have to use whatever is in there! When Sunny was on she would say things like “that was given to me by so-and-so”. Stellar could say “that was given to us by Twinkles”. I imagine they would love to get on that show and just getting invited might be tough. But it would be cool.
Kekeke, I completely agree with you on the puppy – as much as I think they would adore it, I think it would be difficult to look after it with their hectic schedules and how they live. I wasn’t sure about grocery coupons initially, but actually I think it’s not a bad idea. It’s quite cute actually haha – especially if they were invited to a show like ‘Please take care of my Refrigerator”. A cooking video could be a good idea. For myself I never manage to keep enough attention watching these, but that may be because I never watched Stellar cook before hahaha. We should see what other fans think as well (I’m currently setting up a idea submission/voting system via IdeaFan – I hope to get it up soon 🙂 ). I agree with what you’re saying about the quality of food Korean idols seem to love to eat – they don’t look very healthy at all! And Ramyeon seems to be loved by all but is so darn unhealthy too. It made me think we should get them delivered groceries and an automated vegetable/fruit dicer hahaha.
I also want them to shut off the camera when they eat too! Goodness, when I was watching their restaurant V-live broadcast I was thinking, “just let the girls rest and enjoy their food already!” lol. Although, they could do a Meokbang separate to that for us. Those are still enjoyable, if they are prepared for it haha.
In my opinion, V television is a rather good channel to promote the group. Now there are more than 9,000 persons following Stellar’s channel. But recently Stellar are busy with their comeback and some other activities. They really have no spare time to think about how to make the alive more interesting. If we can give our advice for their V television. It could do their favor. I think we can learn much from “running man” but not too much exercise. kekeke.
I think we should totally come up with more ideas for their V-live broadcasts. I like the ‘Running Man’ concepts. Hahaha, it may be tough for them if the missions were too physically exerting, although it may make them healthier too (that’s what it did for the members of ‘Running Man’ – goodness, they’re mostly all so fit now after 6 years hahaha). Actually, I was thinking of giving them a mission to them when they visit Lotte World – like make a Stellar member directed cut of their new song. I think it would be fun for them, and also interesting to watch. What do you think? any other thoughts? I think we can structure Lotte World like a one-day ‘One Fine Day’.
Ahaa, its fastidious conversation on the topic of this article here
at this website, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting here.
Welcome to the conversation Will! Thanks for dropping by 🙂 If you have any ideas for Stellar’s upcoming V-app broadcasts, please share it here! I think it would be great for our project to be able to support those as well 🙂
I like the Starbucks cards, the Lotte World, and the massage. Beyond that I’d like to just give them some money they can use however they want, for whatever they need. Those Hyundai Gift Cards from Hey Eonni would be a way to do that. Apparently they are a pre-paid credit card that you can use at any place that accepts credit cards or debit cards. Hey Eonni sells them to us at about a 20% markup to cover their cost of procuring them and then sending them to the recipients. If credit cards are as useful in S Korea as they are in the USA they would work just about anyplace, except for certain department stores that only accept their own store card. http://heyeonni.com/collections/gift-cards/products/hyundai-gift-card
They always say “I don’t have any money”. That’s one thing that made me think of this.
Hi Bioooze, thanks for the idea! Haha those gift cards are cute and I can get where you’re coming from. I’m not sure how appropriate it would be for them (whether they would feel comfortable accepting those), and I feel like it’s a little too close to being giving them money directly. It’s good still having the idea there though. I think what would help them the most at this point is simply becoming more popular and thus closer to their dreams of being successful singers and performers, which is why I think we should focus our thoughts on ideas that could help promote them (eg how can we support their upcoming V-live broadcasts to best show everyone their charms and have them gain new fans – for example having Lotte World potentially broadcasted via V-app).
Oh, and I think there’s a distinction we can make here. I don’t think they’ve explicitly said that they don’t have any money, but they do say (or at least Gayoung does) to “live within ones means”. It’s not so much about the absolute money they have, so I think it’s different. If they become popular, they will have the means for everything 🙂
On a side note I’ll be in Korea from August the 23rd this year for at least 3 months. So, if we have other things we want to do for Stellar after that time, I can do it for us at no markup 🙂
You’ll be in Korea for 3 months? Very good! Do you speak Korean? Or do you just speak Australian LOL?
LOL! I speak Australian very well thank you 😛
I have been learning Korean for the last 6 months! Only 2 months left to cram, I’d better keep going!
Beyond that, I am conversational in Chinese and Japanese 🙂 I like learning and knowing different languages hehe 🙂

I am from China. I love Stellar and all Twinkles. Could I give some feedback?
1. I think 10 small projects are better than 1 big project. If the total amount is equal. Because small project has clear object and very easy to realize. It doesn’t take too long. Maybe 2- week is enough. It can take place every month or every two months. Each success for project can encourage our confidence. Each project give us a promotion opportunity and give fans more chances to join the projects.
2. I think, for each clear project, like Lotte World, it needs deadline. We all concern when will it happen. So, I gave the support fund deadline on May 31st to Chinese Twinkles. We will send the fund to Dengke before June 3rd. Maybe several days delay if there are problems for currency exchange.
3. Many Chinese Twinkles want to know when will Stellar go to Lotte World. We are all excited and very happy to expect for that. Could you give us an deadline for that. We need a good project to encourage more fans together.
4. We hope there are good quality video for Stellar’s vacation. And who will pay the cost first? Is there consumption list? Which languages subtitle will be made for the video? How can we see the video?
5. How to handle the rest fund for each project? Is the rest used for the next project directly?
6. Now, our fund is from Chnia to Hongkon then to Dengke? Is it an improve for that? Counld we send the fund by RMB¥?
Hi Jacky,
Thank you for collecting that feedback for me! These are very helpful as they will help me improve the project, so please keep them coming. Please find my responses below:

I think so too! The current project is actually 4 small projects, with a ‘rolling deadline’, however I have updated the project page to make this clearer (refer to the excerpt from the page, below). Please note that there are some things I need to confirm with The Entertainment Pascal / Makestar in terms of when we can have Lotte World work, in regards to Stellar’s schedules. Originally I was talking with Makestar about filming Lotte World, but they have become unresponsive (I’m still waiting for a reply on some emails from 3 weeks ago), so I actually plan to ask my Korean assistant to call The Entertainment Pascal directly to organise.
>> 2. I think, for each clear project, like Lotte World, it needs deadline. We all concern when will it happen. So, I gave the support fund deadline on May 31st to Chinese Twinkles. We will send the fund to Dengke before June 3rd. Maybe several days delay if there are problems for currency exchange.
I have made some tentative dates for delivery of projects (refer above) – fans can contribute to the projects up to the date specified.
>> 3. Many Chinese Twinkles want to know when will Stellar go to Lotte World. We are all excited and very happy to expect for that. Could you give us an deadline for that. We need a good project to encourage more fans together.
This is something that still needs to be confirmed with the company because they are in preparation for their comeback, but I want to make sure this gets delivered latest late June (because they will comeback in July). I will try to clarify this in the next week.
>> 4. We hope there are good quality video for Stellar’s vacation. And who will pay the cost first? Is there consumption list? Which languages subtitle will be made for the video? How can we see the video?
I have been talking to Makestar, and the original plan was for them to help record it to help promote Stellar and their upcoming Makestar project as well, but I have not heard back from them for the last 3 weeks. If that falls through, I will try to organise with The Entertainment Pascal directly, and will provide some of the funds from this project for that to be done (cost to be determined).
>> 5. How to handle the rest fund for each project? Is the rest used for the next project directly?
Any left over funds from the previous part of the project will go directly to funding later parts of the project!
>> 6. Now, our fund is from Chnia to Hongkon then to Dengke? Is it an improve for that? Could we send the fund by RMB¥?
You can send me funds in RMB via Paypal! That will work well.
Let me know if you have any other questions I can help address!
Thanks Jacky!
Hello hello ^^ I’m here to share some love ahahaha
Anyways, something popped into my head when you asked for other ideas: Recently, Vixx won on The Show and, rather than just being all celebratory, Starlights celebrated by thanking each other for working hard. It’s always been a very important thing for me that any fandom I belong too is one I want to be a part of on it’s one and not simply because we’re all fans of the same group – like how Starlights made me feel so humble and grateful to be a Starlight seeing the way they celebrated, make sense? I view Twinkles the same way; even though I’ve loved Stellar for a long while, it was the fandom that really made me a Twinkle.
So, idea. Maybe we could celebrate that in some way? I know message books and such are used all the time but, instead of saying things like “I love Stellar so much!”, maybe we could do something like “Stellar has helped me meet so many great people” – focus on how they have helped us come together as a community rather than just on our love for them, you know? Domestic and International Twinkles could send in postcards of their cities with their messages (or videos too) and it could all be put together so the girls could see how many people around the world they have helped live happily just for being themselves ^^
The girls know we love and support them, let’s show them how we love and support each other because of them 😀
(Anyone wants to expand on this idea, please do! I may just be being too sappy cause I recently got my kitty back after being lost for 4 days xD ahaha)
Haha thanks for contributing the idea Novadestin! I think it’s a nice sentiment, but perhaps makes more sense after Stellar wins a show – which I intend to be soon. I’m organising with a Korean fan on how we can have Stellar win this coming comeback with the aid of International Twinkles. Once we’ve won that, I think a round of congratulations is due for everyone involved! 🙂
I’m glad your kitty is back home and safe now haha.
If it’s true that Stellar’s going to do another Makestar project.. then maybe we should cap this fundraising effort at 2.5k? To make sure that people won’t have to choose between contributing to this project or contributing to that one?
Maybe we could focus on spending this 2.5k on an excellent day out / care package for Stellar, and submit all our stretch goal ideas to TEP for their Makestar project??
Hi Trent,
Where did you hear that from? But in fact, that is true! I have been in fairly close communication with them about how we can collaborate together, and the contact I mentioned before who could potentially find out what Stellar would like is from within Makestar. I believe we will be combining the projects in one way or another to create the best results for Stellar – so actually you guys won’t have to choose between one or the other – but it’s still being worked out at the moment. I am speaking with Makestar now about how we can have Lotte World recorded for promotions for Stellar as well.
You can keep submitting stretch goal ideas here, as I will continually be in touch with them about how to have it all work 🙂
Woot!
Wow, you know what I would love to find out from Makestar is, basically, when we send money to them in a fund raiser, what % of the money does Makestar keep? They must get a cut of it obviously.
Yes, this is also something that has been on my mind – or rather, how much The Entertainment Pascal / Stellar is able to make in the end – I wonder if I can find out. What I want to preserve with our project here is to make sure that everything goes directly to Stellar in one way or another, whether it is to benefit promotions or otherwise (minus any inevitable currency conversion fees and the like).
It’s worth noting that Makestar projects and events is one potential way of promoting Stellar as well, and I’m in discussion with them at the moment on how we can utilize events to best promote Stellar to international fans, and more specifically cater for international fans as well.
I heard about it from the FYStellar tumblr — that’s my main source of news as a non-Korean speaker.
But okay! I’m glad to hear you’re on top of things as usual!! 🙂
Haha I see, neat! I feel like I’ve been a bit behind these days with Stellar news hahaha. I used to be the first to find out everything, but because I’ve been busy running this project (and some other Stellar related things), and getting IdeaFan up, I’ve been behind hahaha.
Hi! I have an idea! In their documentary, Stellar mentioned that they only had a small speaker to take with them to guerilla performances so they couldn’t be heard too well. A larger and louder speaker that they can use for booming street performances would probably range between the early and mid 100s (in dollars). That way people would be able to hear them loud and clear, and some even come with microphone settings!
Hi Mae!
Oh! That’s a cute idea that I hadn’t thought of! I quite like it haha. Let me put that down as one of the ideas to consider.
What does everyone else think about this?
Well you can’t buy any decent PA style audio stuff for $100 or even $200 US. I would think $1000 at least. Check out the system that Oh My Girl uses for their sidewalk performances. I can’t quite recognize the logo on the speakers, but if somebody happens to know what company that is, I would try to find out how much they cost. I can try poking around looking for logos used by the companies that make PA type speakers. Here are links to 2 of their recent sidewalk shows:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS10_czdVTw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMaF_u_h2GQ
Thanks for the suggestion Bioooze! I feel like those speakers would be a bit large and difficult to carry around though. If they wanted to, they could do it with the speakers they have in their dance room as well (https://youtu.be/b1e7xvPPr1Q?t=32s). I think something that’s portable, and bigger than their current portable speaker (https://youtu.be/AmO9lqF__nM?t=1m7s) would be quite good (lol at their tiny speaker – it’s so cute, but tiny) 🙂
Haha that little red portable speaker is funny! Thanks for those links. Those speakers that are in their new practice room at 32 seconds aren’t really very suitable for taking around to sidewalk guerrillas because they are not make tough to take a little banging around. Pro stuff is always made sturdy and kind of industrial looking, usually in a polypropylene shell. I found out that the pro type speakers like the ones Oh My Girl uses are really not all that expensive. They are about $400 each ( a pair for $800). They are pretty big though. The current JBL model that would be comparable, but better quality, then the ones OMG had, are the JBL EON 600 series, like the EON610 (which is the “smallest” one) http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/portable-market/eon600-series/eon610#.VzMD9IQrJGF Those are getting great user reviews, some people saying they are a lot better than the older ones.
I noticed in Stellar’s “other” practice room, there are similar size and type speakers, and they are Behringer brand, I’m quite sure they are Behringer EUROLIVE B215D http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/behringer-eurolive-b215d-active-pa-speaker-system That practice room is not really theirs right? So those speakers probably aren’t Pascal property? Those are in their “Insomnia dance practice.”
Smaller speakers like you are talking about – the smallest “Pro” types that I know about are like the JBL EON206P which is still not on batteries, it needs to be plugged in: http://www.amazon.com/JBL-EON206P-Packaged-System-Powered/dp/B00N2AZVHW/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1462909577&sr=8-6&keywords=jbl+eon+speaker
and another small one that does have internal rechargeable batteries and can also be plugged in is the Behringer Europort MPA40BT-PRO which is only $200 each: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/behringer-europort-mpa40bt-pro-portable-pa-system
I’m not so sure that us trying to buy equipment for them is going to work all that great, I mean, if we ship something to Korea there is shipping and tax probably and who knows what for import tariffs. Trying to find a way to buy the item from a dealer in Korea to avoid all that stuff, that could be hard also. All these items that I mentioned above are so cheap and so basic to their business, why the heck doesn’t their company just buy that kind of stuff if they need it? It kind of bugs me. Also I don’t feel like we really know what they need and what they want in terms of equipment, and we don’t even know for sure what they have right now, because the videos we are looking at are a few months ago, they might have more stuff now that we don’t know about. This is the kind of thing that, if I was one of their managers at the company, I’d be all over this kind of stuff because I’ve been interested in audio equipment for over 40 years now, and it is so essential to their business. As an outsider it’s a little hard to do it right.
You’re right! The ‘other’ practice room is the practice room of YAMA & Hotchicks dance company. They create the choreography for many Kpop groups (like KARA) as well 🙂
Smaller portable speakers with batteries I think would work best to make it easy for the girls to perform. I do wonder if they do many guerilla performances or not, and whether that’s simply because they do or don’t have good speakers or otherwise. I hope to find out all those questions when I get a chance to speak to The Entertainment Pascal directly, hopefully soon.
And no wonder you know so much about speakers! Haha
Wow I found out some great information about shipping from a dealer in the US to an address in South Korea. The cost is not bad at all. I found this out by spending almost an hour on the phone with customer service people at Parts Express. Here are some numbers:
Two (2) JBL EON612 powered speakers – $311 landed shipping cost to Gangnam-gu postal code 06008.
One (1) JBL EON612 powered speaker – $158 landed shipping cost to Gangnam-gu postal code 06008.
“Landed” shipping cost means that is the whole cost of shipping. There are no added fees for tax or customs! Totally delivered to the customer! In 3 to 6 days, from the USA!
Those EON612’s are a little larger than anything we talked about above, so for the items we talked about the cost would be a little less.
Here’s where it gets really interesting. Other dealers like Guitar Center will tell you that JBL (for example) does not allow them to ship their products outside of the US. So why can Parts Express do this? They said the reason is that they are a #2 tier business (a distributer basically) whereas most dealers are a #3 tier business (not a distributer) and being a distributer gives them a lot more “privilege” if you want to think of it that way. Also lower prices, which I’ve noticed.
So there you have it, interesting info even if we never actually use it for our project.
BTW the postal code we used is a valid one for Gangnam-gu but it is not for Pascal. I don’t know Pascal’s postal code.
Here is a link to the web page for the product we were using in this test case:
http://www.parts-express.com/jbl-eon612-powered-12-portable-active-pa-speaker-system-1000-watt–245-296
Nice, thanks for investigating for us! Wow, I appreciate the effort. It certainly is interesting information to know. About shipping though, if we do get something like this, perhaps it may be better to purchase from Korea directly? I’m currently speaking to a Korean Twinkle and trying to figure out the logistics at the moment (specifically in terms of finding a good massage place, and to prepare the cafe charge cards). By the way, the postcode for The Entertainment Pascal is 138-852 (Songpa-gu) in case you’d like to do any other investigations 🙂
An address, nice! Have you looked at that in google earth? Somebody really went on a high-rise building binge there. I think they are apartment buildings though. Check it out, building 138:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/South+Korea,+Seoul,+Songpa-gu,+Jamsil-dong,+Baekjegobun-ro,+138+%EC%9E%A0%EC%8B%A4%EC%97%98%EC%8A%A4%EC%95%84%ED%8C%8C%ED%8A%B8/@37.5162231,127.0835826,3a,90y,195.22h,105.35t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s39LL3LFIooOVTgsvsDKTsg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x357ca5ab314c3789:0x3972e9190b01ec0c!8m2!3d37.5156531!4d127.0833495?hl=en
The thing that they call a “zip code” over there though should be a 5 digit number. The first 2 digits of any zip code in Songpa-gu should be “05”. So I’m still a little foggy about how their addresses work. I noticed on the other Korean address I’ve seen on the web, which was for travelkorea.hanintel.com, they did not give the zip code at all in their address. We had to figure out what it was when I was talking to Parts Express, approximately enough to get their computer to chunk out a shipping cost. That’s mostly what took so much time talking to them LOL! That was the address we used to get approx shipping cost to Seoul area.
Haha, I found their building. They mentioned in their last V-app they are really close to Lotte World, and it is true! They are here 🙂
https://www.google.com/maps/place/198+Ogeum-ro,+Songpa-gu,+Seoul,+South+Korea/@37.5078618,127.1122937,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x357ca57819d706d3:0x41f02493bd6f1dc6!8m2!3d37.5079397!4d127.1157956?hl=en
Those are some cool tall buildings there. Jamsil is where Gary from Running Man lives lol!
Wait, so 138-852 is not where Pascal is at all? That is actually Jamsil apartments building 138 where Gary lives?
Pascal is actually at a totally different location, which is 198 Ogeum-ro?
Nono forget I mentioned Gary lol (he lives in Jamsil, I don’t know where though). 138-852 is the postcode for where TEP is. 198 Ogeum-ro is the address for Stellar’s building.
Ok we’re getting somewhere LOL! Because I don’t think 138-852 can possibly be a “Postal Code”. You can see a list of all the “Postal Codes” for Songpa-gu here, there are 12 pages of them, and they are all 5 digit numbers that start with 05, and no dash. http://www.mapanet.eu/EN/Postal_Codes/?page=22&c=KR&n=3&r0=00&r1=11&r2=22&r3=00&r4=00&o=&L=0
There is a Wikipedia article that gives the range of possible postal codes for each district (gu). The range it gives for Songpa district is all 5 digit numbers starting with 05. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_postal_codes_in_South_Korea
There is a Korean language page that you can use google Chrome “translate this page” on – this is a fun one because it is a little bit wacky. But it tells you the same thing. Scroll down to the chart that in English is labeled “Front three-digit ZIP code give details”. This chart will give you the first 3 digits of the zip code for each district. The first 2 digits are given in the left-most column and they are 05 for Songpa. Then where you see Songpa in the chart, look to the top of the chart, and you will see that Songpa covers numbers 5 through 9. That is the 3rd number. So Songpa Postal Codes are always a 5 digit number that have to be in the range 055NN through 059NN (where NN is the 4th and 5th number which you need the bigger chart for). Which is exactly what it says in the Wikipedia chart. http://www.koreapost.go.kr/kpost/sub/subpage.jsp?contId=010101040100
So that number 138-852 might be “something” but it can’t be a postal code or zip code. I don’t know what it is.
FedEx to the rescue I think! I found this on a FedEx page, I’ll copy and paste a few bits of it and give a link. Anyway if the number you have was correct for the old system they had, it might be as simple as finding a table that converts old postal code numbers to new ones. Here’s the explanation:
“Starting April 4, 2016, 5-digit postal codes are required for all shipments to and from Korea …. The Korea Postal code system changed from a 6-digit postal code system to a 5-digit postal code system on August 1, 2015 …. The FedEx internal system is now calibrated for the 5-digit postal code, and starting April 4, 2016, the FedEx system will only accept 5-digit postal codes on shipping documents for all shipments to and from Korea and in all FedEx shipping tools.” http://www.fedex.com/tc/koreapostalcode/index.html
Woah hey really. I think that must’ve been what happened (the recent change). It seems like I’ve been using the old postal code – the 6 digits one – but thanks to tracking I know that a recent parcel I sent to them was received haha. I think it’ll be fine even if we use the old post code, but I’ll have a look at finding the new one just to be sure 🙂 Thanks for pointing that out!
I like what I’m reading so far. Nice! I would like them to have things that they actually want and that are easy for them, not things that would be stress causing. I like this project because it is not about fans getting rewards for doing it. It is mostly about them, not so much about us. The rewards given in the Makestar campaign were kind of expensive. I don’t know how they even made much money from that deal.
I think if they really want to go to Lotte World that would be a good one. Food is a good one too if it could be somehow that they get good food that they really want in an enjoyable way. It seems on Korean variety shows, food is always the big prize at the end HAHA! But it shouldn’t be just food. I would not want it to look like they are some kind of charity case and we are the case workers. It should be stuff that is special and or fun.
I wonder what would happen if we ask them what they want? Kind of a crazy idea. But maybe?
Also, if we ask them for any disk like for instance their 2016 concert on disk, let’s be sure to be clear with them that we would like “blu-ray and DVD” to be made. Not just DVD. Because DVD video is not even HD. It is not even 720p. DVD is stone-age stuff and anybody who has a blu-ray player would want a blu-ray. I’m sure the cam that shot that concert is a modern cam shooting HD video. It should go onto blu-ray (which was designed for HD). The disk idea might go down in flames though. Because they did some music that was released by CJ E&M, and they did some music that was released by Universal, the whole ownership rights thing could be a mess, and those 2 companies aren’t just going to give it away. They would probably not allow it unless they could suck a lot of money out of it. That kind of thing would cool my interest in a disk off pretty quick, unless it was looking like a good business deal for Stellar, something that they would really want.
I’m going to go put some money in now LOL!
I agree! Stress causing presents aren’t a good idea – in my opinion it defies the point! So as long as our presents are appropriate it will be okay 🙂
In terms of what they made from their Makestar project, I also don’t think they made much – at least, relative to the amount of energy they put in – but I think in the back of their minds, they must have been doing it to help promote themselves.
I also agree that this project shouldn’t be about giving charity to Stellar (which is also why I think we should stop using words like “donate”, and use words like “contribute” instead) – they don’t need charity – they are strong girls and they’ve got this – all we have to do is support them and show them that we believe in them, and have them realize for themselves that they are powerful people that can make their dreams happen themselves. Of course, a nice day out and support from fans will help keep them refreshed and motivated until that time 🙂
Heh, I’m already working on finding out what they might want themselves. I’m in touch with a contact that may be able to find out for us either directly or indirectly from the girls… we’ll have to see how it goes 🙂
Ahhh… I didn’t think of the copyright. We’ll have to see how that one works out as well.
Thank you for your contribution as well! 🙂
I like your reply to my comments. I think this is going to be really good.
About possible copyright snafus, guess what I just noticed? That lovely 2016 concert that was uploaded to YouTube by Airiindeshou – is gone. The note from YouTube on the page where it was says “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by 더엔터테인먼트파스칼” and that is Pascal de Entertainment. So Haha ! copyright problems already! On the other hand, that could be a signal that Pascal is indeed thinking about releasing it for sale. So naturally they wouldn’t want it out there for free. I hope that’s it. If you have an insider to ask about things, see if they know anything about that!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9U63tHLb28&ab_channel=Airiindeshou
Oh wow, The Entertainment Pascal never claims copyright on things, so this could be a good sign that they may be thinking about releasing it as a DVD/Bluray. Although there was a camera ban during the night (for whatever reason), so it could be following that line of thinking as well. I’ll see what I can find out – it would be good news if it were to be released!
Camera ban during concerts, I have been told, is always done at SNSD concerts. And their concert tours often wind up for sale on disk. The guy who shot that video must have had permission to do it. That was way more than your usual fan-cam from a cell phone, and it was from a few different camera positions, as I remember LOL. So I’m hoping it’s a good thing. But, on the bad side, the big labels who probably “own” the music, they might actually be the ones at the bottom of it. Some of that music was released on CJ E&M and the newer stuff was released on Universal. So I’m really curious about this question.
To be honest, I’d much rather see the funds go into something the girls really need, like food or clothing.
Hi The Finn!
Thank you for your input. I did have a think about food (as in food vouchers for slightly nicer food / at a cafe / for whenever they wanted to go in for a break, they can. I had originally thought about one of the Starbucks pre-charged cards, but originally I wasn’t sure logistically how we’d get it charged.
I’ll give it some more thought!
Lotte World will happen for sure though, because I think the girls need a healing break – and it can be used as a good source for promotions if recorded. 🙂
Thanks for supporting, The Finn!
I like the food voucher idea. It’s something they can use personally, more than once, when and where they want. Well maybe not where exactly. The where I guess depends on the nature of the voucher.
Yes that’s true! I hope to get it organised as a charge card at one of the larger coffee chains, so it is more convenient for them. Getting information from one of our Korean fan counterparts now 🙂
it’s less than $500 USD to get the “Premium Tour” for four people at Lotte World…. maybe we should be planning to buy that for them???
Ha! I like that idea! We can also get them the Performance Participation (with costume and makeup provided, which sounds fun) and Meal Reservations (they have to eat! Aaaand I’m sure the girls will love it) as well for a total of 55,000 Won per person. I was also thinking we could get them massages or something (either later in the day after they’re tired from having so much fun) or on another day, to help them relax.
But we should remember to also cover the cost of transport for them, and possibly the entry fee for their manager as well if their manager is required to go with them haha (they may not need their manager with them, but it’s something to keep in mind).
What would be fun though is if their manager did go with them and recorded the girls having fun and enjoying the day. Let’s see what we can do 🙂
